Softball Recap: Lincoln Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Lincoln won the last time they faced Kimball and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 19-11 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Mariah Vasquez and Na'Tasia Cherry did most of the damage at the plate: Vasquez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Cherry scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Vasquez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was I'Riahna Randall, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .646. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in four consecutive games.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 11-4-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Kimball, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
