Immokalee hasn't had much luck against North Fort Myers recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Immokalee Indians will host the North Fort Myers Red Knights at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Immokalee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 21-0 margin over Lely. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Jazmin Garcia was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn Rodriguez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Immokalee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .871. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lely only posted an OBP of .357.
Meanwhile, everything went North Fort Myers' way against Southwest Florida Christian on Thursday as North Fort Myers made off with a 14-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Knights.
Kaliyah Williams made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Abigail Hynes was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Mia Lane was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
North Fort Myers' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.4 runs. As for Immokalee, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
