Zion Staples continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Joshua Martinez, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds.
Artesia's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Steele Canyon, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Artesia will take on Oxford Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oxford Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1080th, while Artesia is ranked 459th).
