Centennial has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Atholton Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Centennial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Atholton likes a good challenge.
Centennial scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 70-60 victory over Hammond. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Atholton posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. Everything went their way against Mt. Hebron as Atholton made off with a 71-47 victory. The victory was nothing new for Atholton as they're now sitting on three straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Atholton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amir Shaheed, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and three steals. Shaheed is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Bryce Inabinet was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Atholton, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Centennial came up short against Atholton when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 53-46. Can Centennial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
