Community Baptist Christian enjoyed a cozy 75-57 win over Portage Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Community Baptist Christian was led to victory by Jay Clifton and Layne Cook. Clifton dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten assists, while Cook scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Clifton has scored at least a third of Community Baptist Christian's points. Titus Clifton was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Community Baptist Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Portage Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Community Baptist Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mishawaka HomeSchool W at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Mishawaka HomeSchool W is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Portage Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Westville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday.
