After losing to the St. Mary's Lancers the last time they met, the Clarence Red Devils decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Clarence was the clear victor by a 76-53 margin over St. Mary's. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Clarence.
St. Mary's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Israel Wilson and Will Szablewski. Wilson scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Szablewski scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Wilson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Smith, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Clarence now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. Mary's, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-1.
Clarence will play host again and welcome Cheektowaga, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Mary's, they will head out on the road to face off against Amherst Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
