Two dominant players in Jared Mims and Joe Sterling are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Alemany Warriors will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Crespi Celts at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Alemany's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell 67-55 to Sierra Canyon. While losing is never fun, Alemany can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Sierra Canyon is ranked third).
Crespi suffered their closest loss since December 2, 2023 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Notre Dame (SO) by a score of 64-61. Crespi has not had much luck with Notre Dame (SO) recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Crespi saw an underclassman step up: Sterling scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Isaiah Barnes was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Alemany has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Crespi, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
