Antelope is 1-9 against San Pasqual Valley since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Antelope Rams will get right back to it and host the San Pasqual Valley Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th. Antelope comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Antelope suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 37-7 loss at the hands of Bagdad. That's two games in a row now that Antelope has lost by exactly 30 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, San Pasqual Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 41-29 to Salome.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kyla Emerson, who scored nine points along with four steals and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Rosales, who scored nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Antelope's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.2 points per game. As for San Pasqual Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.
Antelope beat San Pasqual Valley 41-34 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Will Antelope repeat their success, or does San Pasqual Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
