Given Cosumnes Oaks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while McKinleyville is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McKinleyville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bode Douglass, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Flynn Creighton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cosumnes Oaks' win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for McKinleyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Cosumnes Oaks' road trip will continue as they head out to face Eagle Point at 4:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for McKinleyville, they will be playing at home against Lincoln on Saturday.
