The Faith Christian Academy Knights and the St. Francis Christian Patriots will face off at 4:40 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Faith Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 451 points over their last seven games.
After soaring to a 30-point victory in their last game, Faith Christian Academy came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Maranatha Christian Academy by a score of 62-59. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Faith Christian Academy came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 88th in Missouri, while Maranatha Christian Academy is ranked 297th in Kansas).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from John Schleeter, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Dull, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, St. Francis Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success back in December of 2023. They blew past Chisago Lakes Baptist, posting a 74-33 win on the road. The win was familiar territory for St. Francis Christian who now have four in a row.
Kovii Boldt was the offensive standout of the game as he scored eight points along with five assists and four steals. Boldt is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Micah Brower, who scored two points along with three steals.
Faith Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for St. Francis Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Faith Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind St. Francis Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2018, losing 51-34. Can Faith Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
