It was a good run, but the United Longhorns unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Edinburg on the road by a decisive 74-58 margin. United was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Edinburg apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Edinburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kimora Fagan led the charge by scoring 30 points along with eight assists. The matchup was Fagan's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Emily Carranco was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds.
United's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Edinburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.
United will head out on the road to face off against East Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Central will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Edinburg will be home for the holidays to greet San Benito at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully San Benito focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday.
