The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles will play host again and welcome the Fullerton Warriors, where tip off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Lutheran-Northeast is ranked 238th, while Fullerton is ranked 224th).
Lutheran-Northeast suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Battle Creek, falling 55-23. Lutheran-Northeast has struggled against Battle Creek recently, as their matchup on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, Lutheran-Northeast got some senior leadership from Delaney Rose-hancock and Kendra Petersen. Rose-hancock scored 11 points, while Petersen. scored eight points.
Fullerton posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 39-8 win over Elba. Fullerton pushed the score to 35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Elba had little chance of recovering from.
Fullerton can attribute much of their success to Jaci Maxfield, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Georgia Bridger, who scored seven points.
Lutheran-Northeast dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Fullerton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.
Lutheran-Northeast took their win against Fullerton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 57-35. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Fullerton's Teagan Gonsior, who scored 17 points along with six steals.
