There's no place like home for the Biggsville West Central Heat, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They snuck past Abingdon/Avon with a 59-53 win on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Biggsville West Central also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Shelby Bowman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 38 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it 22 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Biggsville West Central's points. Samantha Meyer was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Biggsville West Central pushed their record up to 16-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Abingdon/Avon, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggsville West Central will square off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Abingdon/Avon, they will head out on the road to face off against the Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deer Creek-Mackinaw presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tornadoes in Illinois (the Chiefs are ranked 31st, while the Tornadoes are ranked 121st).
