This season hasn't been kind to The Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans, who are still winless after their eighth match. They were outmatched by Braddock on the road and fell 51-0. Hialeah-Miami Lakes was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Sean Torres threw for 69 yards on four of seven attempts. Darrien Byrd was his top target, picking up 58 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Braddock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Delrio, who punched in two rushing scores, and also picked up 81 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Justynn Fundora, who threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.
Hialeah-Miami Lakes' defeat was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Ferguson and 7-1 Hialeah (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.4% over those games). As for Braddock, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hialeah-Miami Lakes will take on Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Braddock, they will be playing at home against Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sunset comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
