Baseball Game Preview: IMG Academy White Ascenders vs. Anclote Sharks

The IMG Academy White Ascenders are taking a road trip to square off against the Anclote Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (IMG Academy White has three straight wins, Anclote has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, IMG Academy White earned a 10-5 victory over Sunshine State Elite Academy.

Juho Lee looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jake Madson and Owen Armstead did most of the damage at the plate: Madson scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Armstead scored two runs while going 2-for-4. IMG Academy White is 5-2 when Armstead posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Payne Cearnal was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

IMG Academy White kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Anclote fell victim to Clearwater and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tornadoes.

IMG Academy White pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Anclote, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.
