Barbourville and McCreary Central are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Tigers will head out to square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McCreary Central couldn't beat Clinton County on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Raiders came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 16-6. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 4-0 in the first period.
McCreary Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolton Summers, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Summers is becoming a predictor of the Raiders' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Tristen West was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Barbourville's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for McCreary Central, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
