AAAA Region III recap Oct. 30, 2012
Northwestern extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region III this week by beating Nation Ford, 42-19. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Trojans.
Fort Mill took down Clover 44-17 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Nation Ford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Falcons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Dalton Helms has thrown for 1965 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while AK McCoy has 55 catches for 1021 yards. Daniel Jackson leads the league in rushing with 754 yards.
Entering into this week's contest against the Yellowjackets, Helms is short just 35 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when South Pointe takes on Lancaster. As it stands, the Stallions are in first, while the Bruins are in seventh.
Rock Hill made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,102 from 2,318. The advance stemmed from a 49-30 victory over Lancaster last week.
