The Wilsonville Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-61 to Silverton. Wilsonville lost against Silverton in their previous head to head back in March of 2016, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 53-36 score last time.
Wilsonville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabi Moultrie, who scored 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Moultrie scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Counts, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Wilsonville now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Silverton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Wilsonville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against McMinnville at 2:30 p.m. on December 19th. McMinnville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilsonville in Oregon (McMinnville is ranked 15th, while Wilsonville is ranked 125th). Silverton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Medford at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. South Medford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Silverton likes a good challenge.
