The Dawson Eagles waltzed into Saturday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Episcopal with a 69-64 victory. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Dawson found their leader in underclassman Maleek Sim?us, who scored 32 points. The game was Sim?us' third in a row with at least ten points. Charles Anderson was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Dawson's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Episcopal, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson will take on Klein Cain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Klein Cain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 810 points over their last 13 matches. Episcopal will be home for the holidays to greet Second Baptist at 2:00 p.m. on December 19th. Second Baptist knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Episcopal likes a good challenge.
