Basketball Recap: Parkland Drops Season-High Score on Del Valle

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parkland). They claimed a resounding 54-27 victory over the Del Valle Conquistadores. This was a revenge game for the Matadors: when they faced off against the Conquistadores back in December of 2024, they had to take a 32-28 defeat.

Parkland was led to victory by Rachel Silva and Daisy Nunez. Silva went 5 for 11 on her way to 19 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Nunez almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Those 19 points gave Silva a new career-high.

Parkland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Parkland's win bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Del Valle, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season.

Parkland has already played their next game, a 50-23 loss against El Dorado on the 28th. As for Del Valle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-30 defeat against Hanks on the 28th.
