Even though the Lockport Lions have not done well against the Sacred Heart Academy Sharks recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Lockport managed a 61-57 win over Sacred Heart Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Sacred Heart Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anna Ratchuk, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds. Ratchuk is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Personius, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Lockport and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Sacred Heart Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockport will take on Wilson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacred Heart Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Clarence at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
