It was a good run, but the New Hope Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 47-39 to Hernando.
Hernando found their leader in underclassman Fran Kelly, who scored 17 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. The matchup was Kelly's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaliyah Kelly, who scored 9 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
New Hope's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Hernando, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Hope will take on Starkville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Starkville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday. As for Hernando, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Albany will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Hernando is ranked 35th).
