Last Saturday, Southeast came up short against Wheatland and fell 46-34. The matchup marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Southeast's loss came about despite a quality game from Ayden Desmond, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of TJ Moats, who posted eight points along with six boards and four blocks.
Meanwhile, Lingle-Fort Laramie put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past HEM 68-20. The Doggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 25 points or more this season.
Southeast better keep an eye on Brady Cook. He was instrumental in Lingle-Fort Laramie's win, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Roberts, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.
Lingle-Fort Laramie smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.
Lingle-Fort Laramie's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Southeast has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lingle-Fort Laramie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
