The Cougars came out on top against the Pioneers by a score of 8-4 on Saturday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Gross Catholic got a great performance from Kayo Rempe as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Robbie Brennan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Carson Kozeal was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Douglas County West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colton Willmott, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Gross Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Douglas County West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gross Catholic has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Douglas County West struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
