The Paris Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the St. Anthony Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. St. Anthony took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Paris, who comes in off a win.
Paris will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Thursday, then bounced right back against Hoopeston on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Cornjerkers with a sharp 15-4 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Kraemer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Kraemer was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Mattie Carter and Sadie Sallee did most of the damage at the plate: Carter went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI, while Sallee went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Carter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Wyrick, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Paris kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Teutopolis hit St. Anthony with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell 8-5 to the Wooden Shoes. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
St. Anthony got a big performance out of Ava Faber, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Jackie Vonderheide, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.
St. Anthony's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Paris, their record now sits at 9-13.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Paris hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. Anthony struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Paris suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to St. Anthony when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
