South Oak Cliff has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Kimball Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, South Oak Cliff lost to Atascocita on the road by a decisive 64-45 margin. While losing is never fun, South Oak Cliff can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 763rd, while Atascocita is ranked 18th).
Meanwhile, Kimball pushed their score all the way to 66 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-66 to Shiloh. Kimball has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jaylon Dean-Vines put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points. He scored a full 39.4% of Kimball's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Marri Wickware, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
South Oak Cliff's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Kimball, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
South Oak Cliff couldn't quite finish off Kimball in their previous meeting back in January and fell 58-55. Can South Oak Cliff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
