Tulia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Farwell a four-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Having just played yesterday, the Tulia Hornets will get right back to it and host the Farwell Steers at 3:30 p.m. on December 20th. Hopefully Tulia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Tulia has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Sunray with a sharp 54-28 victory.
Tulia found their leader in underclassman Logan Becerra, who scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Becerra has scored at least 25% of Tulia's points. Zaiden Jalomo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine assists.
Meanwhile, Farwell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 41-36 to Dalhart.
The win got Tulia back to even at 7-7. As for Farwell, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Tulia ended up a good deal behind Farwell when the teams last played back in December of 2020, losing 59-42. Can Tulia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
