The American Heritage Stallions will challenge the Benjamin Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Heritage is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
American Heritage saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell just short of Cardinal Newman by a score of 4-3.
Noah Garfinkel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over eight innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Leo Sheehan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Benjamin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Nease 4-3 on Tuesday.
Thomas Harris looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Benjamin's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Benjamin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Havlicek, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. CJ Soto was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Benjamin pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for American Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. American Heritage has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Benjamin struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
American Heritage was able to grind out a solid win over Benjamin in their previous matchup back in February, winning 7-3. Do the Stallions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buccaneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
