It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 28-7 margin over Anson. The result was nothing new for Forest Hills, who have now won eight matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Forest Hills was led to victory by Rodney Smith and Brady Hibbard. Smith gained 120 total yards and two touchdowns, while Hibbard threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns. Ross Smith did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jazear Griffin and Kendrick Maye certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Griffin rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Maye rushed for 73 yards on only nine carries.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Forest Hills, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.6 points per game. As for Anson, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
Forest Hills will head out on the road to face off against Randleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
