CLINTON, Mich. - After four lead changes,
Ithaca (Mich.) took the lead for good when
Travis Smith threw a touchdown to
Josh Hafner with 8:00 to go in the third quarter and held on to upset
Clinton (Mich.) 41-22 on Saturday.
After trailing 20-16 at the half, the Redskins went ahead on a touchdown with 10:00 left in the third.
Ithaca grew its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. IHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Smith to Hafner.
The loss snapped Clinton's 13-game winning streak.
Clinton came in surrendering 12.9 points per game this season. CHS had a hard time against Ithaca's offense, who entered the game scoring 50.8 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Clinton, who notched a 49-3 victory over Shelby in its previous outing.
