Despite the defeat, Floodwood saw an underclassman step up: Jonah Spindler scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Deacon Laine, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Carlton/Wrenshall's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Floodwood, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlton/Wrenshall's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cromwell at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Cromwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. As for Floodwood, they will head out on the road to square off against Bigfork at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
