The Northwest Yeshiva Lions were the 68-34 winner over Non Varsity Opponent when they last played one another back in December of 2014, but their luck changed this time around. The New Year welcomed Northwest Yeshiva with a 68-37 whooping from Non Varsity Opponent on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northwest Yeshiva has scored all season.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Benoliel, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Benoliel's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Sam Weichbrodt was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds.
Northwest Yeshiva has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Non Varsity Opponent, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 71-169-1.
Northwest Yeshiva won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Non Varsity Opponent at 1:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will face off against Academy for Technology and The Classics at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Academy for Technology and The Classics is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.3 points per game.
