Avenn Ortiz had an outrageously good game for Duarte as he threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 10-for-10passing, and also rushed for 151 yards on only five carries. Ortiz got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 82 yards. Alex Perez was Ortiz's top target, picking up 169 receiving yards.
San Jacinto Valley Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Duarte, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Jacinto Valley Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
