The Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans will challenge the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia made easy work of Greenfield/Northwestern and carried off a 16-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Mylee Tracy made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Tracy was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Lucie Dion was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mallory Rohn, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] lost 18-1 to Calhoun on Monday.
West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brylee Lawson, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]'s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. It's a different story for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia's sizable advantage in that area, the Cougars will need to find a way to close that gap.
