Riggs (Pierre, S.D.) took an early lead against Harrisburg (S.D.) and held on for a 45-13 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Governors put up 14 points. Riggs scored on a touchdown run by
Ethan Case and an Case touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter, RHS led 31-0 at the half.
The Pierre school expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. The Governors' lone score in the quarter came on an Case touchdown run.
The Tigers came in surrendering 16.4 points per game this season. Riggs had given up an average of 15.6 points prior to the contest.
The defeat comes as a step back for Harrisburg, which notched a 27-20 victory over Huron in its previous outing. With the win RHS extended its winning streak to four games.
