It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lecanto had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Belleview Rattlers a 5-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by five goals or more this season.

They hit Belleview with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from EMMA BLAIS (2), GABRIELLA MALMBERG, KYRA MCCLANAHAN, and SOFIA LOIERO.

The win (which was Lecanto's third in a row) raised their record to 13-3-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Belleview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9-1.

Lecanto will host Gainesville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gainesville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lecanto surely won't give up without a fight. Belleview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
