The Holmes County Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Bethlehem Wildcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Holmes County came out on top against Bethlehem by a score of 49-42. Given Holmes County's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 180th, while Bethlehem is ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Savannah Goodman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emma Whitaker, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Holmes County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Bethlehem, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Holmes County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Chipley at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Chipley will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Bethlehem will take on Paxton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Paxton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday.
