Boiling Springs fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Susquehanna Township on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the HANNA by a score of 57-54. The loss put an end to Boiling Springs' undefeated start to the season.
Despite the defeat, Boiling Springs got a solid performance out of Brandon Ascione, who scored 23 points. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Richie, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Manheim Township, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Warwick on Monday and snuck past 42-39.
Boiling Springs' defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-1. As for Manheim Township, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Boiling Springs came up short against Manheim Township in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 54-42. Can Boiling Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
