Mendota has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Princeton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mendota will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Princeton is ranked 159th).
Last Monday, Mendota was beaten by Hall 58-25. Mendota was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-18.
Meanwhile, Princeton was able to grind out a solid win over Rock Falls on Tuesday, taking the game 44-31.
Princeton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Camryn Driscoll, who scored 18 points along with 4 steals, and Keighley Davis, who scored 16 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. The matchup was Davis' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Paige Jesse was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 steals.
The losses dropped Mendota to 1-7 and Hall to 3-4.
Mendota was dealt a bruising 58-30 loss at the hands of Princeton in their previous matchup back in January. Can Mendota avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
