The Albert Gallatin Colonials were the 70-67 winner over the Belle Vernon Leopards when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Albert Gallatin fell 72-61 to Belle Vernon on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (60), Albert Gallatin still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Albert Gallatin still got an impressive performance from Jason Jackson, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Jackson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mykel Belt, who scored 12 points.
Albert Gallatin's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Belle Vernon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Albert Gallatin won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Ligonier Valley at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. One thing working in Albert Gallatin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches. As for Belle Vernon, they will head out on the road to face off against Elizabeth Forward at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elizabeth Forward will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Belle Vernon surely won't give up without a fight.
