The Boyd Anderson Cobras will be playing at home against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Boyd Anderson: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Stranahan has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
Boyd Anderson suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 79-59 walloping at the hands of Western. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite their defeat, Boyd Anderson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaydan Silvera, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Jaden Glaze was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Stranahan beat Miramar 56-47 on Wednesday. Given Stranahan's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Miramar is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in David Nealy and Joshua Skinner. Nealy had a solid game and scored eight points along with two blocks. Meanwhile, Skinner did his best for the losing side, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Boyd Anderson now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Stranahan, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
Boyd Anderson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Stranahan when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-48 victory. Will Boyd Anderson repeat their success, or does Stranahan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
