After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nathan Hale, the Ballard Beavers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Chief Sealth by a score of 54-44. Given Ballard's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Chief Sealth is ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Chief Sealth still got an impressive performance from Anthony Williams-bradley, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Williams-bradley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Gabe Kearney was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks.
Ballard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Chief Sealth, they bumped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ballard will take on Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chief Sealth won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
