After a string of three wins, the Fayetteville Academy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 62-37 loss at the hands of Rocky Mount Academy. Fayetteville Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.
Fayetteville Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Riley Duchon and Polly Miller. Duchon scored 18 points, while Miller scored 15 points. That was a full 48.6% of Fayetteville Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Rocky Mount Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabella Daza out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. Berkeley Miller was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Fayetteville Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Rocky Mount Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

As for Rocky Mount Academy, they and Harrells Christian Academy will face off at 1:30 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rocky Mount Academy is coming into the contest with eight straight wins on the road, so Harrells Christian Academy is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
