The Denver West Cowboys will be playing at home against the Regis Groff Fusion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Denver West suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Northfield, falling 88-46. While losing is never fun, Denver West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Northfield is ranked 25th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jacob Dallas, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Jeremiah Parker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Regis Groff's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 83-60 loss at the hands of Denver North. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Regis Groff in their matchups with Denver North: they've now lost five in a row.
Miguel Morales put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahmoud Ibrahim, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Denver West's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Regis Groff, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Denver West hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.5 points per game. It's a different story for Regis Groff, though, as they've been averaging only 51.9 points per game. The only thing between Denver West and another offensive beatdown is Regis Groff. Will they be able to keep them contained?
