Basketball Recap: Walhalla Comes Up Short

Walhalla lost against Seneca last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Walhalla Razorbacks fell 70-61 to the Seneca Bobcats. Even though they lost, the Razorbacks' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Despite the loss, Walhalla still got an impressive performance from Tyler Lusk, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lusk a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jack Williams, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Walhalla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Seneca got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Stu Finley out in front who posted ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Finley has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Krueger, who put up 11 points.

Walhalla's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Seneca, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Walhalla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-77 loss against Legion Collegiate Academy on the 21st. As for Seneca, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-71 defeat against Collins Hill on the 21st.
