The Rockmart Yellowjackets put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 79-63 victory over Heard County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Rockmart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Treylin Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Rockmart's points. Samuel Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Rockmart has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 4-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.5 points per game. As for Heard County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockmart will challenge Gordon Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heard County, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Zion at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Zion comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
