The Palmer Terrors were the 54-18 winner over the Gateway Olympians when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Palmer fell 24-17 to Gateway on Friday. Palmer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Arvell Amos and Dyson Sharpton certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Amos picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Sharpton rushed for 116 yards. Amos' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Knyle Serrell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 261 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Michael Washington, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Gateway, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.
Palmer will head out on the road to face off against Hinkley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hinkley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Gateway, they will be playing at home against Centaurus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Centaurus' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
