Ryan Blass was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Griffin Atkinson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Millbrook got the win against Ellenville on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1.
Johnny Jacob was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Jacob was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kole Tempestilli, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Will Quirk was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Millbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .406 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Pine Plains' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Millbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pine Plains has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Millbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
