Jesse Newmyer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Savannah Celso, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, North Rose-Wolcott got themselves on the board against East Rochester on Monday, but East Rochester never followed suit. They blew past the Bombers 20-0. Considering the Cougars have won eight matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Bella Youells made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Peytin Westurn was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Zoey Yates was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
North Rose-Wolcott's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
