The Tucker County Mountain Lions waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Tug Valley 56-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tucker County also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2022.
Macy Helmick was her usual excellent self, scoring nine points along with six assists and two steals. Addie Hicks was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Tug Valley still got an impressive performance from Bailee Hall, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hall has scored all season.
Tucker County's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Tug Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tucker County will take on Southern at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Southern is ranked 33rd in Maryland, while Tucker County is ranked 44th in West Virginia). As for Tug Valley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome River View at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
